If you have not voted yet, here is some guidance if you are a progressive, liberal, independent or Democratic Party member.

Riley Sweeney has posted his election recommendations, and I can second them almost fully.  He includes good liberal suggestions for the Charter Review committee for all three districts.

Just a couple points that I emphasize.

Bob Burr is needed on our PUD - the Public Utility District.  Needed because this obscure government agency is a good old boy enclave - and McClure is an solid good old boy.  Burr will break up the awful back room dealings of the PUD.  This is an uphill fight for reform.  I see McClure is being touted as the responsible fellow.  Well, he is not.  He has a record of getting in bed with bureaucrats and making sweet deals.  If Bob Burr is elected, we can expect more responsible actions and much better results for all of Whatcom County.

I would emphasize to those in the 3rd County district to vote for John Lesow whether you are a liberal or conservative.  John was on the county planning commission and is respected by those on the left and right.  We need his voice on charter review.
