Taking children from parents for political gain

By On
• In USA & Beyond,

Trump wants the Democrats to vote to pay for his wall - and is showing he will do anything to achieve this political goal. Anything, including separating children from their parents for weeks and longer. Until the Democrats agree to pay billions of dollars for a wall separating us from Mexico, he will keep upping the ante with more outrages against innocent people.

Trump could end this separation with one single order - and it would end the same day. Within the hour.

We are mostly local news here at NWCitizen, but this national issue needs comment. Like the Germans who blindly switched the railroad boxcars packed with Jews from the main lines onto the tracks to the death camps, if we stand by silently we are sharing in the crimes of our government. And this is a crime. Of the worst kind. Young children are being traumatized for life by our president. For a political issue.

Pro Publica has smuggled out a recording of children crying, asking for their mothers and fathers. The recording includes a U.S. border agent joking about the noise and how they need a conductor for their bad music. His joke is at the one minute mark.

Closer to home.

Liberal Bellingham officials and police kidnapped the Rengo children from their mother and father.   Medical Kidnap happens up here too.

Last I read, the Rengo children are permanently removed from the mother, the father is in prison. Appeal done.  Family ruined. Many kids will likely “disappear” from the Foster system.

This happened under B. Obama  leadership and probably the same as is happening to the ones in Southern States.

“that poor parents very often are targeted to lose their children because they do not have the where-with-all to hire lawyers and fight the system. Being poor does not mean you are not a good parent or that you do not love your child, or that your child should be removed and placed with strangers;”

It’s in our blood, it seems…

Excerpt from the Intercept “Separating Migrant Families Is Barbaric. It’s Also What the U.S. Has Been Doing to People of Color for Hundreds of Years.”:

“First, this has happened here before. In fact, it has happened millions of times across the years in this country. Africans forced into slavery in this country were routinely separated from their children — not only in being transported to the Americas, but then repeatedly at the auction block. Not thousands, but millions — of mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, parents and children, brothers and sisters — were all forcefully separated from each other. And this was no brief period of this nation’s history, but a feature of the institution of slavery that existed in the United States for nearly 250 years.

Not only were enslaved African children routinely separated from their families, but so too were Native Americans in this country. From the late 1800s all the way until the 1970s, children were routinely taken from Native American homes by force and sent to barbaric “Indian schools,” where their hair was cut and their names and culture stripped away. Many of them never saw their families again.

What might be most shocking, though, is the way the U.S. — today, in the present — separates so many families whose stories go unremarked upon. I’m talking about the crisis of mass incarceration in America, of which the crackdown on immigrants is but one horrific piece.”

And for the men in our society for whom the custody battle for their children is stacked against them.

We got it all covered.
